Rooted & Free Schoolhouse is a homeschool resource for families who love the freedom of homeschooling but seek academic learning in a social setting. Our school has the luxuries of a private school with affordable tuition and a small student-to-teacher ratio, allowing the opportunity for each child to thrive based on his/her own unique personality and skill level.
Early Learners
Early Learning is the heart of our model and the place where curiosity takes root. Designed for children ages five to seven, this program invites children to play, wonder, and create while gently building the skills they need to grow with confidence.
Each morning begins with open-ended invitations to learn, a shared read-aloud, and unhurried conversation. Children move through their days immersed in play, art, stories, and time outdoors, strengthening fine motor skills, letter and number recognition, and social-emotional skills along the way. As they grow, students are introduced to phonics, writing, reading, and math through screen-free, small-group learning—honoring their developmental pace while nurturing a deep, lasting love of learning.

Elementary Learners
Elementary Learning builds upon the strong foundation laid in the early years, with a growing focus on phonics and spelling, writing, reading, and math. While academic skills deepen, creativity, play, and exploration remain at the heart of the elementary experience. Students learn in screen-free, small-group settings that allow for meaningful connection, thoughtful instruction, and a deeper understanding of core subjects.
Each morning begins with a creative project alongside a shared read-aloud, setting a calm and engaging rhythm for the day. Children then rotate through reading, writing, and math stations before spending time outdoors in play and exploration. Afternoons invite imagination through dramatic and sensory play, as well as arts and crafts. This program nurtures curiosity, encourages joyful learning, and offers just the right challenges for growing minds.
Middle School Learners

The Middle School Program is a place for students to discover their strengths, explore their interests, and begin taking meaningful steps toward what excites them most. Mornings are spent building mastery in math, reading, writing, and grammar through a thoughtful blend of online and face-to-face learning. Afternoons are filled with hands-on, project-based experiences in geography, science, STEM, and real-world life skills, inviting curiosity, encouraging exploration, and helping students grow into thoughtful, confident, and capable learners.
